Before SSLI believe I am significantly punctual. I procrastinate quite a bit, but I am never late on any assignment. I am always prepared for presentations, projects, and interviews.
I am not too organised at home, but at school I try to do all my work as quickly as possible so I won't have to do it at home. I personally do not set myself any specific goals. I try to do my best at school, however I don't think about goals too much. I do have a few in the back of my mind, that I would like to accomplish. I believe I cope well with problems, although at times I do get quite stressed out. When I get past it I think about different ways to approach the problem and begin to use what I think to be the most efficient method. I get past problems by asking people for help and solving the problem. I do believe it is important to manage yourself and have self-control, because if we cannot manage ourselves or our learning, no one else can do it for you. It will be important to manage myself in the future so I can cope with university and work in a way that still allows me to have my own time. Learning During SSLDuring lessons here I have definitely improved the management of my personal learning. I am a fairly unorganised person and although I still need to improve in this area, being at SRC has helped me develop a few skills I was lacking.
Although we have only had two of personal preparation lessons, because we were denied our third one after our second three-day expedition. Personal preparation has been a very helpful aspect of this school. Giving us a class to organise ourselves has been very beneficial for me, as I can become fairly messy. These classes gave me the time to clean up my room and sort out everything I needed to do for the following week. This also allowed me to catch up on some work that I hadn't done. I could use this at home by using the techniques I have developed to stay organised, in my home. This can help me stay organised with my homework, and allow me to motivate myself so I won't procrastinate as much as I used to. The passport lessons that we have had have also aided in my organisation. This is because I sometimes do not use my spare time wisely. I use the time that is given to us here to finish off work, so I do not have it piling up and stopping it from becoming a contributing factor to my stress. The passport classes have also helped with my motivation. More specifically, the Goal Setting classes that we have had. These lessons have let me write down the ambitions I have for my time here and set strategies to complete those goals. Seeing them written down and thinking about different ways that I can complete what I have set out to do, has helped me see how achievable those goals are. I now know that I can do anything I set out to achieve. The relaxation class that we had on week 6 was one of my favorite classes so far. This is because it gave me some time to settle down and helped me clear my thoughts. I was a little stressed out because of all the work that I needed to do, but the relaxation lesson really helped me to slow down and think about prioritizing my work. Even though this class may not have been part of the curriculum as an example to help with Managing Personal Learning, it definitely helped me relax and make sure that I am working in the most efficient mind set possible. The School for Student Leadership has helped me become more organised and focused with my learning style. I have managed to think of different ways to work more effectively, as well as prioritising my work so that I can stay as organised as I can. Strategies to Improve This Area & Explanation

Evidence
Building a ScheduleThis timetable helps me stay organised and know what I need to pack for activities beforehand. This allows me know what I need to do ahead of time, and be able to do it as early as possible
|
LLP EngagementHere during LLP, I participated in all the activities and games that we had, and let myself have fun during them. During our activity, I made sure I was flexible with the timetable and even when we had to change some things, I stayed calm, and just enjoyed myself.

Feedback - Jessica HThis evidence is from my roommate, and it shows that I have started working on the management of my personal learning. It shows that I not only get involved in my expo team's discussions, but also those that involve the whole community.
In time I see Laura in class or an activity, Laura always has a smile on her face and get['s] involved. She always seems to be having a great time in class, which spreads to the other students and made the lesson a fun and positive one.

Strategies to Improve This Area & Explanation |
Keeping my room and work space tidy, so I don't get disorganised, and know where everything is - by week 7 and maintain organised |
Take at least 20 minutes every week to make sure I have all my work up to date, so I don't get it piling up. |
Keeping a clean room can help know where everything is. This will not only help me declutter, and reduce my stress levels, but also allow me to do my work in an organised area, where I can find what I need in a moment's notice.
|
Taking those 20 minutes daily will allow me to see what I need to do. I will prioritise, and finish the work in time, so I can feel happy that all my work is done, handed in, and to a good standard. This will also make sure that I can finish new work in apt time, and not have everything piling up.

Always be 5-10 minutes early to classes, meals and iDEARR so I do not hold everyone up, and can learn efficiently |
Being early/on time to classes, will make me feel learning ready, and that I am not only helping my personal development, but making sure I am not deterring others from doing the same. I will be more prepared for classes, since I am more cautious of time, and overall be more organised with my learning.
