Before SSLI am a person who tries to think about other people, sometimes putting others' people's thoughts before mine. I am however fairly stubborn in some areas, but I try to be a flexible thinker. I understand that I am able to learn in all sorts of ways, from reading texts and answering questions to taking notes from PowerPoints, but I do prefer hands on activities.
I never truly think about how I am going until I get to either a good spot, or fall significantly behind. Apart from these times, I do not reflect on how I am feeling through this. I have occasionally changed what I do in classes to improve my learning. I have tried colour coordinating some of my stationery for different classes to get organised faster and sometimes I set myself the goal of finishing a certain amount of work within a certain time. I don’t usually draft or check my own work. If it is a writing task, I usually type it out, save a copy and make adjustments. When I'm happy with some of the work I have done, I ask a teacher or a friend to look over it and edit it for me. I do believe that it is important to know what your learning habits are, so that you are aware of what you can improve on and what ways you can motivate yourself to be the best learner you can be. It helps you know how to do the best you can do for yourself in your academic and even social life - as learning more about people can make you be better at socialising with other people. |
