Quote of the Day: “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” - John Quincy Adams
Evening:
Last night’s evening class was hosted by a guest speaker: Sergeant Toni Redshaw. She was with Victoria Police, and spoke to us about sexual assault and harassment. It was a very informative presentation, with many different medias used such as, the powerpoint, video and using some of the students as a visual example, to get us to understand everything. She told us about the legal definition of consent, and how the legal age to actually be able to consent is 16, and what is legally classified as sexual assault. Toni also made sure we knew the different approaches we could take if anything surrounding the topic ever happened to us or someone we know. I significantly enjoyed the lesson, and now know a few more things directed to the legal actions with those sort of matters.
Today:
This morning, we had our Personal Progress Interviews. This session helped me organise what goals I want to set for the next 5 weeks, and talk to my liaison teacher. I was able to reflect on what I need to work on, and what I am progressing well in. Having a letter from my feedback buddy, and my liaison teacher there, was helpful since I knew they might have noticed things in my behaviour that I may have missed – both good and bad – and gave me some constructive criticism to work from. This interview gave me a good idea of what to aim for in my remaining time here, and different ways to approach activities.
Our second class for the day was a half day bike ride. I was a little nervous, but as soon as we started the ride, I really enjoyed myself. Some of the uphills were a little draining – physically – but I managed to keep up quite well and did not crash (which was a major achievement since I am not the best when it comes to physical activity). This activity got me to be more confident in my abilities, and more comfortable riding a bike on the road.
Thankful Thursday:
Three things I am thankful for this week are:

Three things I am thankful for this week are:
- The ability to go out as a group for fun activities, rather than having to be cooped up in a classroom
- Having the opportunity to learn at a school with a friendly and supportive community
- That I will be able to see my parents in a few days (and eat some junk food because, why not \(^-^)/)
