Quote of the Day: “Where there is no vision, the people will perish.” Proverbs 29:18
Yesterday:
For yesterday’s evening class, we had ‘Pitch It Up’ night. The point of this was to have a 1-minute presentation, to pitch our CLP. It could include music, humour – as long as it was creative.
Our team, Mount Waverley 1, decided to go for the musical approach. So we thought it would be great if we change some of the lyrics to ‘Hakuna Matata’, and sung it as ‘The Host Program’ – obviously without the authorisation of Elton John. So we changed the lyrics, and talked about how our program was to help primary schools with transitioning from 6-7, and those in secondary (from our school) from 8-9.
It wasn’t too bad, the song that we made, and we tied 2nd place with the people from Ringwood Secondary. One of the boys who was going to play the chords in the background, wasn’t really able to do so, since we weren’t able to put up the chords during the presentation as the computer was not working. However, I had a great time making the presentation, and quite proud that we made it to 2nd place.
Today:
The first class of today, was Surfing. As it was the second time I was school leader, and we needed to organise all the things we needed to say, as well as actually doing the call between the other 2 campuses – Gnurad Gundij and Alpine – I lacked time to get ready. However, I did manage to get everything sorted out, and we were able to leave on time (^-^)
The waves today were much stronger and larger than last time, but I did have the little bit of experience that I gained from the first surf lesson. Thus, I still managed to get up on the board a couple of times, however, it was much more difficult. It was a lot of fun, and I have truly enjoyed these lessons.
For afternoon class, we had sustainability. We started off our lesson by showing the impact we have on the environment, and how important it is to sustain it, because we need it. After that introduction, we went over to our vegie garden, and chook pen, and started cleaning it up. I cleaned the chook pen – or more specifically – the poop from the pen. The most interesting thing that happened was that within some of the chicken guava, I found a bunch of maggots and bugs. So all of that went into the compost, and we also swapped out the paper in the nests where they lay their eggs.

Laura had been going good at achieving her goals and getting on top of everything that needed to be done for her PPI. She had been very supportive when canoeing and the half day bike ride, she is making sure that everyone is ready to go on to next things in the week. Laura did great on LLP day at presenting and making sure that the primary kids were put first in the activities.
What to work on is her goals and making sure that everything is up to date so she doesn’t fall behind in anything.
Great Job!!
