Quote of the Day: "They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself" - Andy Warhol
Evening:
Yesterday for evening class, we watched a DVD called Lion Heart. It was about a young boy - Jesse Martin - from Australia, that made a solo trip around the world. He talked about his difficulties both during and before the trip, and how people reacted.
This film was a very inspirational story, and taught us that if you have a dream, always strive towards it. Even if it seems too difficult or others are against you, it will just make the finish more satisfying.
Today:
This morning, we had a guest speaker named Barry Heard. He is a Veteran from the Vietnam War, and he told us his story. He spoke about growing up in the country, and what he did before having to go to war.
He told us about what he did and how he felt in different situations during the war, and even his time afterwards.
He had very emotional and insightful stories, and told them in a way that was engaging and got us to empathise with him, even if we didn't have experience with what he faced.
For afternoon class, we had another passport lesson, called 'Refocus'. Here we got shown a small clip (from Kung Fu Panda) and given back a letter to ourselves that we wrote at the start of the term. We got given these so we thought about what we want to do to improve our personal growth, and give us a better idea of what we wanted our goals to be.
Motivated Monday:
This week, I really enjoyed Visiting Weekend - and eating a bunch of chocolate ^-^ - as well as listening to Barry and the stories he had to tell.
I think I could improve on organizing myself a bit more so I don't get stressed in the last few weeks, and I would really hope to do this before our second expo (which is next week on Tuesday to Thursday).
