Quote of the Day: "If we wait until we're ready, we'll be waiting for the rest of our lives." - Lemony Snicket
Evening:
Yesterday, for evening class, we had another student led activity. This time, 2A made a gameshow called 'Snowy's got Talent'. We got put into 6 groups, and we all had to make our own 2-5 minute performance. We had 25 minutes to do so, and it could be anything ranging from music to humour to magic. Our team decided to incorporate magic and humour (because we didn't actually know how to do magic) and eventually decided on a hypnotist act. We got the dodgy hypnotist to just tell us to do crazy things, and unfortunately we had to oblige. It was a significantly embarrassing session, however, it was fun, and pushed me out of my comfort zone.
Today:
For morning class today, I had Global Issue. Everyone had to pick a global issue out of a hat, and I picked out Food and Agriculture. I was fairly lost with this topic, as it was so broad, but I started researching, and I will probably talk about World hunger, and hopefully add in parts about the growth of the food industry, GMO's (genetically modified organisms - e.g. chickens from some chicken farms where farmers have taken out the gene that makes them grow feathers, and increased the growth gene, as well as genetically modified corn and plants) and the lack of restrictions they have on what they are allowed to sell to consumers.
For afternoon class, we - fortunately - had relaxation. Here, one of the teachers - Ms Patterson - led us through some relaxation techniques, most of which were centralised around yoga, and the beliefs related to it. It was a very relaxing class, and I am glad that we had it, because it helped me release some of the worries/tension I had.
Selfie Sunday:
So far, this week, I have managed to achieve small personal goals I have had. I pushed myself out of my comfort zone - by doing the Snowy's got Talent act- and I managed to organize myself a lot more - I am completely up-to-date with my iDEARR (as you can tell) and I have cleaned up my room a bit. I will continue to push myself and maintain or even improve the level of organization I have managed to get.
