Quote of the Day: “Success doesn’t make you, failure doesn’t break you.” – Zig Ziglar
Evening:
For last night’s evening class, we had Leadership options. In this lesson, we looked at what programs and organisations could help us continue on our path in leadership. There were many organisations there, that fell under a few different categories. There were some that I already planned to volunteer with, the prime example being the RSPCA, but there were others which I hadn’t heard of before, but was keen on researching. Aside the RSPCA, the main one I wanted to work with/volunteer at was the Challenge foundation. From experience, I know how helpful the organisation is, and I would love to have the opportunity to help with what they do. Another similar foundation that I would also consider working with is Canteen, but overall, all the organisations that were in that document, would provide a great experience, and those are definitely not the only ones out there.
After we looked at that, we also saw 2 other leadership type education centres:
Today:
Our first lesson of the day was CLP 7. Here, my group finished off the script and did a few practice runs. Although there are a few things we need to do to polish the act up, it is quite good already, and I cannot wait for this coming Friday, as that is when we get to see teachers from our home school, and have a fun day showing what we want to do to help our community.
In the afternoon, we had ‘The Amazing Race’. This consisted of 12 activities that we could complete, like a Sudoku, building a tripod (like the ones from bridge building, and making a Lego model. Apparently, this competition decided which Expo group was better, but we all know that the number 1, the Best of the best, is 1B (^-^).
In all seriousness though, our team worked together really well. We completed all the challenges we set out to do (except the Sudoku because another group took a really long time doing it) and we also had fun along the way. There were a few small moments were some people seemed annoyed at each other, but all in all, we did a great job, and everyone did enjoy themselves.
We are not certain at the moment who won, but I know that this trivial game does not define our group. We are 1B. Enough said. \(^-^)/
WWW. Wednesday:
Today, in all the activities that we did, I learnt that even if I am learning, that doesn't mean I cannot have fun. Although I usually tell myself to relax a little and have fun, I never truly end up doing that. However, today, I found that if I just let my worries go, I can actually learn a bit more than I thought. I learnt that we can get a lot done in one session, if everyone buckles down and shares the load (CLP). I also learnt that a fun activity outside can help everyone’s moral, and make everyone more relaxed and happy for more learning.
Overall, learning this today will help me in future studies to know when I can have fun with an activity. Although there will definitely be times where I have to be serious and study, or do my work, I don’t have to be that way with every activity I undertake. At times it will be better to loosen up and have a bit of fun, as long as I am motivated and completing what needs to be done.
